Dr Palthadi Ramakrishna Achar
Was born on September 9 , 1945. He had his primary and Secondary education in Puttur.
He obtained MA degree in Kannada and also obtained B .Ed and doctoral degrees. He began his career as a primary school teacher and later promoted to Pre-university college and was appointed as a Kannada lecturer.
His Tulu works include Pacche Kural, Dunipu, Bhoothala Pandya, Dr Shivarama Karanther, Tulu Samskrithida Polabu, Tulu Nad-da Nagabrahmer etc.
Works on Tulu culture: Tuluvara Janapada Kathegalu, Janapada Spandana, Janapada Kunitha, Kalkuda Kallurti etc..
Other works: Bangla Vijaya (Yakshagana), Kirana, Antharbhutha, Namma Sarkara, Kavya Rashmi etc…
Lyrics to cassettes: Tuluva Siri, Tuluva Mallige and Athereda Poo etc….
Honours and awards: Tulu Sahitya Academy book award 1995 for his work Tulu Dialect, District Rajyotsava Award 1995, president of the 10th Tulu Sahitya Sammelan held at Mumbai in 2001 , Tulu Kuta Udupi decennial award in 1995 for his contribution for the study of Tulu language. Served as president of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy.
Dr Duggappa Kajekar
Was born on August 2nd at Kajekar in Madantyarand obtained MA degree and M Phil in sociology from Mangalore University. He served as Registrar of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy and Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy. Presented papers in national and state level seminars.
His published works are: “Research Methodolgy” in 2008, a guide for BA final year students of Mangalore University.
Published articles:—-“Kumbarike Dakshina Kannadada Vyapthiyalli published in the Grama Samskrithi series of Kannada Pusthaka Pradhikara ; “Occupational mobolity among Kulals,” and Meesalathi mattu Kulalaru”.
Presentation of papers: Presented papers in Karnataka state level Sociology conference held at Hassan and at the national level seminar on sociology held at Mangalore.
Editorial work: – — Served as managing editor of Madipu quarterly of Tulu Acady and brought out four issues of the magazine. He was also the managing editor of “Konkani Sirisampada” quartely of Konkani Sahitya Acadmy and published several issues of the magazine..
Chandrahasa Rai B
He has been serving as Registrar of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy since September 26, 2009. He began his professional career as highschool teacher in 1986 at Government Pre-university college , Polipu, Kaup of Udupi District. Rai was promoted to Pre- univeristy Education Department in 1991and served as English lecturer at PU colleges in Keyyar, Puttur, Savanoor and Ivarnadu. He recieved his B.Sc degree from Mangalore university and post-graduate degree in English from Dharwad university.
Served as member and chairman of the Bellare unit of International Jaycees organisation and divisional officer of the Jaycees. In 1997 he becamde of the president of Jaycees division comprising eight revenue districts in Jaycees Division 15. He also served as national council member of Jaycees organisation. Mr Rai, a national trainer of Jaycees has also obtained Prime Trainer degree from the International Jaycees University. He also obtained four -day trainaing at the national level training programme on rural development under the auspices of BIRD organisation and under the sponsorship of NABARD at Lucknow.
He has given training programes all over the state for employees, youth, students and teachers on subjects including career guidence, science and English language, Parliamentary practice and leadership. Rai has served as senior students association president, Founder secretary Yuvaka Mandal and Director, Sri Durga Charitable Trust at his native village Keyyar. He is also an active member of Education Study Centre , Puttur.
Mr Chandrahasa Rai has worked as organiser of and judge at taluk and district level Prathibha Karanji and youth festivals. Besides he is an artiste of Yakshagana stage and dramas and Talamaddale exponent. He has also acted in tele films.
